Permanent Representative Tamila Tasheva participated in the panel discussion “Restoring Governance: Vision for Future Administration of De-Occupied Territories,” held within the framework of the conference “Shaping Ukraine’s Policy Toward Occupied Territories,” organized by the Healthy Solutions Foundation, the Frontier Institute, and the International Renaissance Foundation.
The discussion also included contributions from Deputy Head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Mykhailo Lemak, and Director of Strategic Development of the Healthy Solutions Foundation, Tetiana Havrysh. The event was moderated by Olesia Ostrovska-Liuta, Director of the Mystetskyi Arsenal State Enterprise.
During the discussion, the Permanent Representative spoke about the Mission’s work in developing the state’s initial actions following de-occupation. Tamila Tasheva emphasized the importance of preparing the necessary foundations now for effective governance of these territories once Ukrainian forces re-enter Crimea.
She also noted that preparations for the de-occupation of Crimea have been significantly strengthened through partnerships with other state institutions and civil organizations, particularly in the context of cognitive de-occupation aimed at overcoming the influence of Russian propaganda.
“It is crucial to continue the fight for our territories and our people. We must debunk myths about Crimea as ‘historically Russian’ and highlight that the peninsula remains Ukrainian. The citizens of Ukraine living in Crimea show support for Ukraine and resist the occupiers with remarkable resilience,” Tamila Tasheva stressed.
