On 6 November 2018 the Chief Consultant of the Department of International Connections of the Mission Valeria Pakhomova attended the press-conference of the co-organizers of the Forum of IDPs and conflict-affected persons “Together towards the result” on theme: “How to resolve the problems of IDPs”

The participants of the meeting were Valeria Lutkovska, the People’s Deputy of Ukraine, co-founder of civil society association “Ukrainian Human Rights Institute”, Oleg Martynenko, the expert of Ukrainian Human Rights Khelsinki Union, representatives of civil society associations, the press and information agencies.

At the press conference, a great range of humanitarian problems of IDPs was discussed, particularly the draft law №7462 “On amendments to some Laws of Ukraine on suspension of mortgage repayment if the subject of mortgage is in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine or in the areas where the state authorities are temporarily out to exercise their functions; the draft law № 6240 “On amendments to some Laws of Ukraine concerning the voting rights of IDPs; the draft law № 6692 “On amendments to some Laws of Ukraine concerning the pension rights of certain categories of citizens”.

A special attention was paid to the need to develop the solutions’ framework for IDPs and establish the  inter-factional special Human Rights Union for IDPs. In conclusion the draft Memorandum on establishment of the Open Human Rights Platform for IDPs was presented by the speakers
