In May, 11 2018 the chief consultants of the Departments of the Legal Analysis and International Relations of the Mission visited an exclusive showing of the film “Prison Stage for Half the World: History of Sentsov and Kolchenko Imprisoning”. The Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People members, the representatives of the civil organizations, activists, friends, political detainees’ family members and everybody concerned, who expressed their solidarity and moral support to the political detainees, were the participants of the event.
In May, 10 it will be 4 years from the day of arrest of Kolchenko and Sentsov. They were accused of the preparation of the terrorist acts, cooperation, convinced Kolchenko to ten years and Sentsov to 20 years. Sentsov and Kolchenko were detained in prison in Moscow, sentenced in Rostov-na-Donu move by steps to Ural and then to Russian Arctic. They both went 20 thousands km – it is a half way around the world. Their trip as the prisoners is exclusively around Russia. The film shows the key places of their last step of the way and the conditions of their detention and the people who engaging in their destinies.
Mission will do its possible within its mandate to facilitate the assistance of the detainers and their families, coordination of the decision of their humanitarian needs, exercising their rights to obtain the administrative services in the mainland Ukraine.
