From an open-source information, the Mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea became aware about the illegal holding an auction on January 26, 2021, by the so-called “administration” in the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. The winner of the auction is LLC “Plant of vintage wines Koktebel”.
The team of the Mission collected relevant information and passed it to the Prosecutor’s Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, with a specific goal to protect economic assets over which control is lost due to the temporary occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol by the Russian Federation.
The Mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea requests the Prosecutor’s Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol within its areas of competence to provide a legal assessment of the above information or to involve relevant information in existing criminal proceedings.
The Koktebel enterprise is one of the oldest industrial factories on the territory of the Crimean peninsula. The total area of vineyards is 1,100 hectares, located in the Barakol and Armutluk valleys. The factory had a long tradition for Madeira production, is one of the most powerful in Europe and is designed for 200,000 decalitres of Madeira.
With the beginning of the temporary occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, KD Koktebel, LLC was re-registered in accordance with the occupation legislation of the Russian Federation. Probably, the lease agreement was terminated, because since 2014 the property of the State Enterprise “State Farm-Plant Koktebel” was illegally leased to LLC “Plant of Vintage Wines Koktebel” up to April 21, 2064.
