Every day, our fellow citizens in temporarily occupied Crimea continue to tirelessly resist the Russian occupiers, demonstrating their support for Ukraine and their belief in the inevitable de-occupation of the peninsula. We will continue to inform you about the public attitudes of Crimeans in our regular column #resistance_movement.
- A resident of the Yevpatoriia district spoke negatively about the Russian military servicemen and said he wanted to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The occupiers illegally detained the man and forced him to apologize on camera. An administrative report was drawn up against him, and an illegal fine of 50 thousand rubles was imposed on him for allegedly “discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation”.
- The 30-year-old resident of Sevastopol wrote comments on social media from his account, calling for violent actions against the occupiers. The man was illegally sentenced to 1.5 years in prison with the deprivation of the right to engage in activities related to the administration of sites and channels on the Internet.
- A resident of Belogorsk expressed sympathy for Ukraine on social media. The occupation forces drew up a “report” against the man, the materials of which were sent to the occupation “court”.
- Activists of the ATESH resistance movement noticed an increase in the number of defensive positions of the occupiers along the Crimean coast and conducted reconnaissance at the Chersonese Airport, which is used by the occupiers as a base for UAVs.
- Activists of the Yellow Ribbon movement continue to resist the occupiers in Crimea, destroying copies of propaganda materials and distributing patriotic symbols in the occupied cities of the peninsula, especially in Simferopol, Sevastopol, Bakhchysarai, Yalta, and Yevpatoriia. In Simferopol, for example, patriotic symbols were placed on Zakharova, Polihonna, Radianska and Berehova streets.
- Activists of the Crimean Combat Seagulls continue to expose the personal data of collaborators and Russian war criminals in occupied Crimea.
- The Zla Mavka resistance movement continues to publish its diaries, distribute a weekly newspaper revealing the occupiers’ crimes, and distribute Ukrainian symbols.
New illegal administrative proceedings in the occupation courts of Crimea under the article on the so-called “discrediting the Russian Armed Forces” also testify to the growing resistance. As of July 4, 2024, 847 cases of materials drawn up under Art. 20.3.3 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation were recorded in the so-called “courts” in temporarily occupied Crimea and other competent authorities. In 755 of these cases, a decision was made to impose an administrative penalty in the form of a fine or to join the case to another case under another article and make a cumulative decision. In 10 cases, the materials are still being considered. Based on gender, 309 (41%) decisions were issued against women and 446 (59%) against men. In total, the aggregate amount of fines imposed has already amounted to at least 23.7 million Russian rubles.
We thank every one of you for your courage and clear public stance. Crimea is Ukraine, and we are fighting together to return the Crimean Peninsula to Ukrainian control as soon as possible and to bring a sense of security to our citizens from the temporarily occupied territories.
Glory to Ukraine!
