On March 21 the Chief Consultants of the Departments of International Connections and Legal Analysis of the Mission took part in the briefing on theme: “What is waiting for the Indigenous Peoples of the Russia Federation?” held in the press center “Glavcom”. The participants of the event were Rafis Kashypov, a member of the All-Tatar Public Center, a former political prisoner of Kremlin, Bolyaen Syres, chairman of the Erzyian Val Association, a veteran of the modern Russian-Ukrainian war; Rostislav Martyniuk (Ozhomasson Kyrdya), member of the “Erzian Val” Society, winner of the Erzian of the Year Award in 2007.
In the cause of the briefing it was highlighted the Rights of Indigenous People of Russia Federation and in the Republics of Idel-Ural: Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Chuvashia, Udmurtia, Mordovia, Mari-El. The speakers told about the facts of persecution of national activists by the authorities of Russia Federation, the russification of education and elimination of socio-political organizations of Tatars, Bashkirians, Chuvashes, Maris, Udmurts and other violations of the Rights of Indigenous People committed by the Russia Federation in the Republics of Idel-Ural.

The policy of intimidation and repression the peoples of Idel –Ural by Russia authorities compared to the situation of pressure exerted upon the Crimean Tatar People by the occupying authorities in the temporarily occupied Crimea. Following the briefing, the speakers signed the message addressed to the compatriots and global community.
