The threats of escalation in the waters of the Sea of Azov and the Kerch Strait were among the issues discussed during the meeting with Angela Merkel. “We make every possible effort to ensure that the Russian side clearly observes international law,” the Head of State stressed. President Petro Poroshenko says that Ukraine is grateful to its partners for the support of the United Nations Resolution on the situation in the waters of the Sea of Azov and the Kerch Strait and thanked the Chancellor of Germany for supporting the document

“I would like to thank Germany and France for agreeing now to join the UN Resolution on Crimea and the Sea of Azov. It is, in fact, also an effort to use the platform of international organizations to ensure peace in the region. Thank you very much, Mrs. Chancellor,” the President emphasized.
