On March, 1st 2018 the representatives of the Mission of the President in ARC participated in the information session “Tortures in the occupied Crimea: defenselessness and impunity” in the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine named after Gennadiy Udovenko at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The attendees of the session were accredited diplomatic missions of foreign governments and organizations, officials of the Diplomatic Academy and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, representatives of civil organizations, Human Rights groups and former political detainees.

The widespread violations of Human Rights and forms of tortures used to the citizens of Crimea in the temporarily occupied territory were discussed during the event. The lack of effective protective mechanisms from the tortures and mistreatment using by Russia highlighted there.

The participants of the event called on the International Community to strengthen the personal sanctions against the persons who were responsible for Human Rights violations in Crimea and boycotted the participation in the Football Championship of 2018. The film about the political detainers of Kremlin was shown to the presents. It was noted the Mission was taking all possible measures within its mandate to provide the political detainers and their relatives with different aids, help to meet their humanitarian needs and to realize their rights using the administrative services in the mainland of Ukraine. In the framework of the event the officials of the Mission visited the lection of famous American expert David Harris on “Foreign Policy in the USA and Global leadership”
