The Permanent Representative Olha Kuryshko held a meeting with representatives of the United Nations Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine, in particular with the Coordinator of Regional Offices, Ole Solvang, and Human Rights Officer, Taguhi Melkumyan.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Crimea Platform Support Service Anna Sytnikova and Tetiana Nepomniashcha.
The Mission’s team emphasized the systemic nature of human rights violations committed by the Russian Federation in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea, particularly the discriminatory policies against the Crimean Tatar people, restrictions on freedom of religion, numerous instances of unlawful deprivation of liberty on political, ethnic, and religious grounds, as well as the cruel treatment of detainees.
The parties agreed on further cooperation aimed at strengthening international monitoring of the human rights situation in temporarily occupied Crimea, in particular in the context of documenting systemic violations, recording crimes, and facilitating the prosecution of the Russian Federation within international legal mechanisms.
