The Representative Office of the President of Ukraine in Crimea publishes a translation of the Resolution on the Ukrainian prisoners in Russia and the situation in Crimea, adopted by the European Parliament on March 16th, 2017.
The document adopted by the legislative body of the European Union, confirms an unconditional and consistent support of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine according to the internationally-determined borders, and sends a clear signal to the Russian Federation that its attempt to annex the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol will never be recognized by the EU and its Member States.
The applied sanctions against the state, which is carrying out occupation for the attempt to annex the integral part of Ukraine, may be cancelled only after restoration of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine on the Crimean peninsula.
Besides, the resolution comprehensively and objectively provides the facts of large-scale crimes and human rights violations in the Crimea committed by the Russian occupation authorities and calls for the expansion of personal sanctions against those persons who responsible for gross violations of human rights on the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city Sevastopol.
In this document, the European Parliament, once again put forward a claim to set at liberty all the citizens of Ukraine who are illegally detained in Russia and on the temporarily occupied Crimea immediately, to stop any further prosecution of the citizens of Ukraine and to restore respect for the international law, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
