On the 6th of February Boris Babin, the Permanent Representative of the Presedent of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea together with his First Deputy Izet Hdanov held the working meeting on establishing effective cessation measures of using restricted airspace above the territory of the Crimean peninsula by Russian airline companies.
Participants included the representatives of the State Aviation Service, the Ministry of Economical Development and Trade of Ukraine, Ministry of Temporarily Occupied Territories and IDPs, the Executive Service of the Main Territorial Department of Justice in Kherson Region, the Department of Prosecutor’s Office in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the Main Office of Security Service of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

In particular it was discovered that within the framework of the State Aviation Service of Ukraine there was still no introduction of qualitative and systemic accounting of offenses, especially, there is no prompt submission of relevant materials to the competent authorities on issues of enforcement and the imposition of sanctions in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine. There isn’t properly established system of providing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine with the information on aircraft operated by the airlines – violation in temporarily occupied territories and for legal international aviation connections. Also the issue of prosecution of specific individuals and legal entities has not been dealt with.

According to the results of the meeting the participants determined the shortest possible time for eliminating mentioned drawbacks. Besides the frequency of information exchange and the algorithm of cooperation. The above mentioned issues are constantly monitored by the Mission.
