8 March 1977: The UN day for women’s rights and world peace.
That is why on March 8, 2014 the all-Crimean action “Women of Crimea for Peace” took place with more than 15 thousand people in it. Crimean women supported unity with Ukraine, protested against the entry of Russian troops and the illegal seizure of power.
And the residents of Simferopol went to a rally against the war and occupation. The participants of the rally marched through the city in peace, protesting against Russia’s military aggression and for the support to Ukraine in the preservation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Also on the same day, the village of Chongar was captured and a group of Ukrainian activists were attacked.
