On October 23 the Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in ARC Borys Babin and the Chief Consultant of the Department of International Connections of the Mission Valeria Pakhomova met with UN Resident Coordinator in Ukraine Ms. Osnat Lubrani and the Mr. Stan Veitsman,UN Peace and Development Advisor.
During the meeting, a great range of humanitarian matters was discussed, particularly the opening of the administrative service centers network in the districts neighboring Crimea; the assistance, provided by the Mission to the families of Crimean political detainees and other citizens of Ukraine in resolving their real life challenges. The attention was paid to the functioning of the educational program for Crimeans.
Borys Bibin stressed on the importance of legal passengers’ transportation and direct railway link with the districts, adjacent to the temporarily occupied Crimea to be established. The participants of the meeting discussed the ecological crisis that continued in the occupied territory of Crimea in Armyansk. The meeting resulted on the prospects of joint events to be held for improving the implementation of the recommendations of the UN Monitoring Mission in Ukraine.
