Since February 24, 2022, a wave of protests and statements against Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine is going in the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. Hundreds of people express their support for the mainland part of Ukraine, condemn the occupation and Russian war crimes, and encourage the Ukrainian Armed Forces to liberate the peninsula. Most of the public protests swept the peninsula immediately after February 24, however, solidarity actions with the mainland are still taking place all over Crimea. Occupying authorities persecute Ukrainian citizens in Crimea for every action that may be considered as support to mainland Ukraine including blue-yellow nails, traditional Ukrainian embroidered shirts, and official Ukrainian state symbols.
The Mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Ukraine prepared information on the resistance of Ukrainian citizens in occupied Crimea.
