On the night of July 31, 2025, the Islamic Cultural Center and mosque in Kyiv sustained serious damage as a result of a Russian shelling. According to Murat Suleimanov, the Mufti of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Ukraine Umma, all windows and doors of the mosque building were broken. The complex also houses a gymnasium and the office of the Congress of Muslims of Ukraine, which were also significantly damaged. The Islamic Cultural Center is an important spiritual hub for the Muslim community, including the Crimean Tatar community in Ukraine.

According to Murat Suleimanov, the missile fell approximately 50 meters from the mosque, and its fragments caused additional damage to the building. Currently, the local Muslim community is actively involved in restoring the damaged premises, demonstrating solidarity and unity in overcoming the consequences of the attack.

As a result of the Russian attack on Kyiv, residential buildings were damaged, with over 80 people injured, including children, and there are fatalities. The regions of Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Sumy, Mykolaiv, and Kyiv were also affected.
This act of aggression is yet another war crime committed by Russia. Strikes on residential buildings, religious, and cultural sites represent ongoing terror aimed at intimidating the civilian population.
